We apply a strong numbing cream before the procedure to keep you comfortable. Most clients describe feeling light pressure or scratching sensations but no significant pain. Our team checks in with you throughout the procedure, and if necessary, we can apply more numbing cream as needed.
Your first appointment usually takes about 2 hours. We spend time designing your perfect brow shape, choosing the right color, and making sure you’re happy with the plan before we begin. It takes approximately an hour for the primary microblading process to take place, while the rest of the time is spent on the design and numbing.
Microblading typically lasts 1-2 years, based on your skin type, lifestyle, and skincare routine. Some clients choose to get a touch-up once a year to keep their brows looking fresh. It is important to note that sun exposure, swimming, and certain skincare products can make the pigment fade faster.
The healing process takes about 4-6 weeks. Your brows will look darker for the first week and then may appear patchy as they heal. This is completely normal. The final color settles in about a month after your treatment. We will provide you with specific aftercare instructions in order to ensure the best possible healing results.
Most people who want fuller, more defined brows are good candidates for microblading. However, it might not be right if you have very oily skin, are pregnant or nursing, have certain skin conditions, or take blood thinners. Our doctors will review your health history during your consultation to ensure that microblading is a safe procedure for you.
Avoid caffeine, alcohol, and blood thinners like aspirin for 24 hours before your appointment. Don’t tweeze or wax your brows for a week before, as we need to see your natural brow shape. In addition, you should avoid getting sunburn on your face or getting any type of strong exfoliating treatment in the week leading up to your procedure.
