Do you desire smooth, hair-free skin without the hassle of daily shaving? The hair removal services we offer include waxing and sugaring to match your skin’s needs. While waxing uses warm wax to remove unwanted hair, sugaring uses a natural paste made from sugar, lemon, and water. Both methods remove hair from the root, giving you longer-lasting results than shaving. You’ll enjoy smooth skin for weeks, and over time, your hair may grow back finer and lighter.
At Haven Permanent Cosmetics & Aesthetics, we make your hair removal experience as comfortable as possible. Our skilled estheticians help you choose between waxing and sugaring based on your skin type, hair texture, and personal preference. Both methods are effective, but some clients find sugaring gentler on sensitive skin. Your comfort is our priority, and we use only the highest quality products for both services. Ready for silky smooth skin? Book your appointment at Haven Permanent Cosmetics & Aesthetics in Gig Harbor today.

Waxing uses warm wax that sticks to your hair and removes it from the root. Sugaring uses a natural paste that’s applied at body temperature and removes hair in your natural growth direction. Many people find sugaring less painful because the paste doesn’t stick to your skin, only to the hair.
For both waxing and sugaring, your hair should be about 1/4 inch long (about the length of a grain of rice). This usually means waiting about 2-3 weeks after shaving. If your hair is too long, we can trim it to the right length during your appointment.
Most clients come in every 4-6 weeks, depending on their hair growth cycle. Regular appointments help reduce hair growth over time and make each session more comfortable. We’ll help you set up a schedule that works best for your hair growth pattern.
Everyone experiences pain differently, but most clients find both methods very manageable. The first time might be more sensitive, but it gets easier with regular sessions. We can recommend ways to minimize discomfort, like taking ibuprofen before your appointment or avoiding caffeine on treatment day.
Gently exfoliate the area 24-48 hours before your appointment, but not the day of. Avoid retinol products and harsh exfoliants for a few days before. Wear loose, comfortable clothing to your appointment. Don’t apply lotions or oils to the area on the day of treatment.
For the first 24-48 hours, refrain from hot baths, exercise, swimming pools, and tight clothing. Keep the area clean and avoid touching it with unwashed hands. We recommend using a gentle exfoliant after 48 hours to prevent ingrown hairs. We’ll provide you with complete aftercare instructions at your appointment.
